At age 12, she was at risk of early marriage, a common practice in her community. Her family couldn&#8217;t afford school supplies, and the nearest secondary school was 15km away.<\/p>\n<h3>ACEO Support<\/h3>\n<p>In 2018, ACEO&#8217;s Girls&#8217; Education Program intervened:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provided school materials and uniform<\/li>\n<li>Arranged bicycle transportation to school<\/li>\n<li>Conducted community awareness on girls&#8217; education<\/li>\n<li>Offered tutoring and mentorship<\/li>\n<li>Provided family counseling to prevent early marriage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Academic Success<\/h3>\n<p>Lemlem excelled academically:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ranked 1st in her class for 3 consecutive years<\/li>\n<li>Won regional science competition<\/li>\n<li>Scored 4.0 GPA in Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Received full scholarship to Addis Ababa University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Community Impact<\/h3>\n<p>Lemlem&#8217;s success changed community attitudes. Her village now:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Has zero cases of early marriage in 3 years<\/li>\n<li>Created a community fund for girls&#8217; education<\/li>\n<li>Built a girls&#8217; dormitory near the school<\/li>\n<li>35 girls now attend secondary school (up from 5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Lemlem&#8217;s Vision<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;I want to become a doctor and return to serve my community.
